Our Take on This Opportunity

This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.

You may be a strong fit if…

  • Recent Kenyan ICT or Engineering graduates with First Class or Upper Second-Class Honours.
  • Young professionals (21-29 years old) looking to bridge the gap between academic study and industry.
  • Individuals interested in specialized tracks like AI, data analytics, or digital infrastructure.
  • Candidates who are willing to be deployed full-time to any of the 47 counties in Kenya.

What should you think carefully about?

  • The program is strictly for those who have not previously participated in a Government of Kenya internship.
  • You must be prepared for a full-time, on-site commitment that may require relocation within Kenya.
  • The application process is highly document-intensive, requiring verified academic credentials and specific GPA documentation.
  • Providing false information carries severe legal penalties, so ensure all academic records are accurate and verifiable.

How could this fit your current goals and plans?

This program is a premier launchpad for early-career ICT talent in Kenya. It is designed to provide the structured mentorship, professional network, and practical workplace experience necessary to secure long-term employment in the digital economy, making it a perfect fit for graduates seeking a high-impact start to their careers.

Our take

This is a highly recommended opportunity for top-tier Kenyan ICT graduates who are ready to commit to public service and professional development. It is not suitable for those who are already employed or those who cannot commit to full-time, potentially remote, government deployment.
