Our Take on This Opportunity

This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.

You may be a strong fit if…

  • Experienced digital communications or marketing professionals with at least five years of relevant work history.
  • Individuals proficient in multimedia production, graphic design tools like Canva or Adobe, and social media analytics platforms.
  • Bilingual candidates with fluency in Spanish and advanced English proficiency (Level C).

What should you think carefully about?

  • This is a six-month service contract, which may not offer the long-term stability of a permanent staff position.
  • The role is strictly on-site in San Salvador, requiring physical presence in El Salvador for the duration of the contract.
  • Applicants should verify if their specific professional background aligns with the humanitarian focus of the World Food Programme.

How could this fit your current goals and plans?

This role is an excellent opportunity for a communications specialist looking to gain experience within a major humanitarian organization. It offers a chance to apply digital strategy and multimedia skills to high-impact institutional objectives while benefiting from WFP's internal training and mentorship programs.

Our take

Communications professionals with a strong digital portfolio and a desire to contribute to humanitarian efforts should apply. Those seeking permanent, long-term roles may find the six-month contract duration less suitable.
