You may be a strong fit if…

  • Candidates with specialized research experience in Mediterranean archaeology and proven field project administration skills.
  • Individuals seeking a short-term academic role that balances teaching responsibilities with research support and publication work.
  • Professionals who value a supportive, family-friendly university environment with interdisciplinary collaboration opportunities.

How could this fit your current goals and plans?

This position is an excellent fit for early-career researchers or archaeologists looking to gain experience within a leading German research university. It provides a structured opportunity to contribute to ongoing Mediterranean research projects, build teaching experience, and enhance your publication record within a fixed timeframe. It is particularly well-suited for those looking to bridge a period in their career or gain specific experience in German academic administration and teaching.

Our take

This is a strong opportunity for archaeologists with a Mediterranean focus who are looking for a temporary, part-time academic position in Germany. It is less suitable for those seeking long-term stability or full-time employment, given the fixed-term nature and 65% workload.
