Our Take on This Opportunity
This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.
You may be a strong fit if…
- Experienced program managers with a background in master planning and infrastructure integration.
- Professionals comfortable navigating bilateral coordination and international real estate transactions.
- Individuals seeking a defined, 3-year temporary assignment with federal benefits.
What should you think carefully about?
- The role is strictly on-site in Pyeongtaek, South Korea, requiring a willingness to relocate.
- The position includes a 1-year probationary period and requires passing USA Hire assessments.
- Locality pay does not apply, though foreign area benefits like LQA may be available.
How could this fit your current goals and plans?
This role is ideal for a mid-to-senior level professional looking to gain significant international experience within the Department of the Army. The 3-year term provides a structured window to lead high-stakes master planning initiatives while benefiting from federal support, including potential student loan repayment and relocation incentives.
Our take
This is a strong opportunity for experienced planners looking for a focused, international federal assignment. It is less suitable for those seeking long-term domestic stability or those unable to commit to an on-site, 3-year term in South Korea.
