About the opportunity
The PhD project, based at the Section for Health Data Science and AI, aims to develop a predictive computational framework for understanding the subcellular localization of polyadenylated RNAs in neurons. By integrating RNA sequence, structure, RNA-binding protein (RBP) interactions, and biological function, the research will uncover rules governing RNA localization in healthy, degenerating, and regenerating neurons. The candidate will work with datasets such as Frac-seq and N-zip, utilizing machine learning, deep learning, and feature-based classifiers. The role involves independent research, coursework, teaching, and thesis writing within an international, cross-disciplinary environment.
