- Strong fit for experienced development professionals in Guatemala with a background in agricultural economics, rural development, or environmental management.
- Ideal for candidates with a proven track record in project cycle management, budget tracking, and financial monitoring within international cooperation or UN systems.
- Suited for individuals who excel in multidisciplinary team environments and field-level operational coordination.
What should you think carefully about?
- Restricted exclusively to nationals of Guatemala, meaning international applicants are not eligible.
- Offered as a temporary national project personnel (NPP) contract initially set for 12 months, which requires careful consideration regarding medium-term employment security.

How could this fit your current goals and plans?
This role offers an impactful opportunity for mid- to senior-level professionals aiming to strengthen their career in international development, specifically by driving food security and rural resilience initiatives within the United Nations system in Guatemala.
Our take
Guatemalan nationals with at least five years of project management experience and an academic background in agriculture or related fields should seriously consider applying before the October deadline. Those without local project management experience or working proficiency in Spanish will find this position unsuitable.
