Our Take on This Opportunity

This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.

You may be a strong fit if…

  • Ideal for public health professionals in Indonesia with a strong background in communicable disease control and malaria prevention.
  • Well-suited for candidates who possess both fluency in English and Indonesian and experience working with national health authorities or NGOs.
  • Provides a direct platform to contribute to national health policy development and multi-sectoral partnerships within the UN system.

What should you think carefully about?

  • Restricted exclusively to Indonesian nationals due to the National Professional Officer designation.
  • Involves a fixed 2-year commitment based in Jakarta, requiring local residency or relocation.
  • Strict vaccination requirements and mandatory background verifications apply to all final candidates.

How could this fit your current goals and plans?

This two-year fixed-term role provides an excellent opportunity for mid-career public health specialists to deepen their expertise in international health organizations, manage high-impact disease control programs, and collaborate closely with government ministries and global health partners.

Our take

Qualified Indonesian public health and epidemiology professionals with specific experience in malaria and NTD programs should seriously consider applying before the November 2026 deadline. Candidates lacking national professional experience in communicable disease control will find this role less suitable.
