What should you think carefully about?

  • This role is restricted to Haitian nationals, so international applicants are not eligible.
  • The position requires physical labor, including lifting heavy equipment, which should be considered by all applicants.
  • The role is a 12-month contract, which offers stability but is not a permanent staff position.
  • Applicants must be prepared for occasional field missions as part of their duties.

How could this fit your current goals and plans?

This role is an excellent opportunity for a skilled mechanic to contribute to humanitarian efforts while gaining experience within a prestigious UN organization. It provides a clear pathway for professional development through WFP's internal training and mobility programs, making it a strong choice for those looking to build a career in the humanitarian logistics sector.

Our take

Haitian nationals with strong mechanical and technical backgrounds who are looking for a stable, impactful role within a global organization should apply. It is less suitable for those seeking permanent, non-contractual employment or those unable to perform the physical requirements of the job.
