Our Take on This Opportunity
This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.
You may be a strong fit if…
- Ideal for IT professionals with strong expertise in WordPress administration, server maintenance, and general IT support.
- A great match for individuals seeking a stable, permanent, part-time role (50%) in a university environment.
- Well-suited for those who enjoy a mix of technical administration, user support, and hands-on event/media technology setup.
What should you think carefully about?
- The position is strictly part-time at 50% (19.915 hours per week), which may not suit those looking for full-time employment.
- The role is on-site in Bochum, Germany, though some flexible/mobile work options are available.
- Fluency in German is highly likely required given the administrative and support nature of the role within a German university.
How could this fit your current goals and plans?
This role is excellent for securing long-term, stable employment under the German public service collective agreement (TV-L) while maintaining a healthy work-life balance through part-time hours and flexible working arrangements. It offers a solid platform to build experience in academic IT infrastructure, media technology, and content management.
Our take
This is a highly attractive opportunity for qualified IT specialists or system technicians looking for a permanent, part-time position with excellent public sector benefits in Bochum. It is less suitable for those seeking full-time roles or fully remote international positions.
