About the opportunity
The FAO Fisheries Division (NFI) promotes sustainable development in fisheries and aquaculture. The Fishing Operations and Compliance Team (NFIFP) is building a pool of consultants and Personal Services Agreement (PSA) subscribers to support its mandate, including the implementation of the Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries. Selected experts will contribute to projects such as RegLitter, PRO-SEAS, and REBYC III. Assignments may involve technical advice, project formulation, capacity building, and policy support in areas such as fishing gear technology, vessel design, safety at sea, fisheries economics, and pollution reduction. Our take
Experienced fisheries and maritime professionals should apply to be included in the FAO's expert roster. It is less suitable for those seeking permanent, long-term staff positions or those without the specific technical backgrounds listed in the vacancy.
