About the opportunity
Ideal candidates will have experience supporting disaster recovery operations and coordinating with federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, nonprofit, and private-sector partners to deliver recovery assistance programs. They should be skilled in analyzing complex program issues, developing recovery plans and guidance, communicating technical information clearly, and working effectively under emergency conditions, including deployments and irregular hours. At FEMA, our mission is to help people before, during, and after disasters. Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and extensive travel with little advance notice under physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
