Our Take on This Opportunity

This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.

You may be a strong fit if…

  • Experienced operations leaders who have successfully scaled organizations in the 30-to-60-person growth phase.
  • Professionals with a track record of managing multiple functions such as People Ops, Finance, or Talent.
  • Candidates comfortable working in person in Berkeley, Washington DC, New York, or London.

What should you think carefully about?

  • The role requires an in-person presence, so you should be prepared to work from one of the specified office locations.
  • The selection process is rigorous, involving a paid strategy work task and a two-day in-person work trial.
  • While visa sponsorship is available, you must be prepared to navigate the relocation and immigration process if you are not already based in the US or UK.

How could this fit your current goals and plans?

This role is ideal for an operations expert looking to apply their scaling experience to a high-impact mission-driven organization. It offers a rare opportunity to shape the infrastructure of a rapidly growing firm working on critical global risks, providing both significant professional responsibility and competitive compensation.

Our take

This is a strong fit for seasoned operations directors ready to lead organizational growth in the philanthropy sector; those seeking fully remote work or who are not aligned with the mission of AI safety and nuclear policy may find this less suitable.
