Our Take on This Opportunity

This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.

You may be a strong fit if…

  • Mid-career nutrition, public health, or food technology professionals with specific technical expertise in rice fortification and food standards in Indonesia
  • Specialists who are fluent in both Indonesian and English and have proven experience liaising with Indonesian ministries such as BAPPENAS, MoH, MoA, and BULOG
  • Project managers skilled at developing pilot models, costings, and policy briefs that bridge technical evidence and high-level government decision-making

What should you think carefully about?

  • The role involves dual accountability: performing day-to-day work seconded inside a national ministry while formally reporting to WFP performance management
  • The position is on-site in Jakarta and requires continuous inter-agency coordination across multiple government departments and stakeholders
  • There is a discrepancy between the text deadline (October 11, 2026) and the Workday closing field (October 28, 2026), making immediate submission essential

How could this fit your current goals and plans?

This role is well suited for professionals aiming to operate at the intersection of UN humanitarian policy and national government policy implementation. It offers direct exposure to high-level food systems reform in Indonesia, specifically the operationalization of national nutrition priorities within large-scale public programs.

Our take

Strong candidates with hands-on food fortification expertise and deep familiarity with Indonesia's public sector food programs should apply promptly. Those lacking fluency in Bahasa Indonesia or without background in food safety and nutrition policy will find this role less suitable.
