Our Take on This Opportunity

This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.

You may be a strong fit if…

  • An ideal opportunity for young changemakers, students, and early-career professionals aged 17-47 eager to engage with international diplomacy at the heart of the European Union.
  • Well-suited for first-time applicants or individuals without prior international conference experience, as no previous background or language certificates are required.
  • A strong match for participants interested in contributing to collaborative declarations and networking with peers from across every continent.

What should you think carefully about?

  • Scholarship applications require paying an administrative processing fee (£11.99) and selection is competitive rather than guaranteed.
  • Lower scholarship tiers and direct access passes exclude certain inclusions such as airfare support or hotel accommodation, requiring careful budgeting for travel and stay.
  • Applicants must be available to travel to and stay in Brussels, Belgium, for the duration of the convention from March 22–25, 2027.

How could this fit your current goals and plans?

This four-day convention serves as a high-impact accelerator for individuals seeking international exposure, leadership development, and cross-cultural dialogue. Whether your goal is to build a global network, explore European policy-making firsthand, or add a recognized international credential and certificate to your CV, YDC 2027 offers a flexible entry point through multiple funding and registration tiers.

Our take

Youth leaders, students, and professionals looking for an accessible international platform in Europe should seriously consider applying for the scholarship seats or securing a direct pass. Those unable to travel to Brussels or unwilling to cover application processing and out-of-pocket travel costs may find the self-funded or lower-tier options less suitable.
