Our Take on This Opportunity

This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.

You may be a strong fit if…

  • Current Michigan National Guard federal technicians or employees seeking career advancement.
  • HR professionals with 24 months of specialized experience in personnel management and policy interpretation.
  • Individuals with strong analytical skills and experience in military personnel systems like SIDPERS or iPERMS.

What should you think carefully about?

  • Eligibility is restricted to specific tenure groups within the Michigan National Guard.
  • The application requires a strict 2-page limit for the federal resume.
  • If currently serving on a Title 10 or Title 32 tour, you must be released from that tour before any personnel action can be taken.

How could this fit your current goals and plans?

This role is a strategic move for a current federal technician aiming to transition into a specialized HR leadership position within the Military Personnel Office. It offers the chance to influence career development and personnel policy for the Michigan Army National Guard.

Our take

This is a strong internal growth opportunity for qualified Michigan National Guard personnel; it is not suitable for those outside the current federal technician workforce or those not meeting the specific tenure requirements.
