Our Take on This Opportunity

This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.

You may be a strong fit if…

  • Candidates with direct experience in military or federal supply chain management, particularly using Navy ERP or NALCOMIS systems.
  • Individuals comfortable with physical material handling tasks, such as operating forklifts, alongside administrative data analysis.
  • Applicants who thrive in environments requiring strict adherence to safety and security protocols for hazardous and classified materials.

What should you think carefully about?

  • The role requires flexibility for an 'uncommon tour of duty,' meaning your schedule may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • The application process is rigorous, requiring specific documentation like SF-50s for federal employees and strict adherence to a 2-page resume limit.
  • Candidates must be prepared to complete the USA Hire competency-based assessments within 48 hours of receiving the link.

How could this fit your current goals and plans?

This position offers a stable, full-time federal career path within the Department of the Navy. It is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to leverage existing logistics and supply chain skills in a specialized military support environment, providing a clear structure for professional growth within the federal GS pay scale.

Our take

This role is ideal for experienced supply technicians or logistics professionals with a background in federal or military supply systems. It is less suitable for those seeking a standard Monday-to-Friday schedule or those unable to meet the specific documentation and assessment requirements of the federal hiring process.
