Our Take on This Opportunity
This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.
You may be a strong fit if…
- You have practical experience in warehouse management, inventory control, and logistics database reporting.
- You are fluent in both English and Tetum, with an understanding of local logistics and supplier coordination in Timor-Leste.
- You seek hands-on operational work within a leading international humanitarian organization.
What should you think carefully about?
- The role requires full-time, on-site attendance at the warehouse facility in Dili, Timor-Leste.
- Initial engagement is offered under a 9-month renewable Service Contract (SC4) rather than a permanent staff appointment.
- Candidate evaluation relies heavily on exact compliance with WFP standard operating procedures and inventory integrity.
How could this fit your current goals and plans?
This contract position offers a practical entry point for warehouse and supply chain professionals looking to build operational experience within the United Nations system. It aligns well with career goals focused on humanitarian logistics, inventory management, and emergency food assistance operations in Southeast Asia.
Our take
Qualified logistics personnel fluent in Tetum and English who reside in or can relocate to Dili should strongly consider applying. Applicants seeking remote work or long-term permanent staff status initially may find the short-term, on-site nature of this contract less suitable.
