Our Take on This Opportunity

This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.

You may be a strong fit if…

  • Professionals with a solid background in supply chain and fleet management who want to transition into or grow within the humanitarian sector.
  • Individuals who excel in multi-tasking, combining hands-on fleet logistics coordination with administrative, financial, and training support.
  • Candidates who value structured professional development, coaching, and potential long-term internal mobility within the UN system.

What should you think carefully about?

  • The role is strictly on-site ('Fully Present') in Kampala, Uganda, requiring physical presence at the hub.
  • This is a G7-level local position, which typically carries specific local recruitment terms and conditions.
  • The position demands a high level of administrative compliance, managing petty cash, procurement, and complex multi-stakeholder coordination.

How could this fit your current goals and plans?

This role is an excellent fit for logistics and supply chain professionals aiming to establish a stable, impactful career within the United Nations. It offers a unique blend of operational fleet management and capacity-building training coordination, allowing the successful candidate to develop both technical logistics expertise and international development training skills.

Our take

This position is highly recommended for experienced logistics and administrative professionals based in or willing to work in Kampala who possess strong supply chain credentials. It is less suitable for those seeking fully remote work arrangements or those without a background in fleet management.
