You may be a strong fit if…
- Ideal for senior international professionals with over 8 years of experience in food security and vulnerability analysis.
- Strong fit for leaders who have previously worked in South Asia and enjoy mentoring national staff for sustainable capacity building.
- Well-suited for candidates with technical proficiency in advanced statistical tools and geospatial analysis.
What should you think carefully about?
- This is an 11-month consultancy contract, which may offer less long-term stability than a permanent staff position.

- The position requires being fully present on-site in Islamabad, necessitating relocation for international candidates.
How could this fit your current goals and plans?
This role offers a high-level leadership opportunity within the world's largest humanitarian organization, allowing a professional to influence strategic decision-making and evidence-based policy in a critical region. It is an excellent fit for those looking to deepen their expertise in shock-responsive social protection and emergency preparedness while managing a high-performing multidisciplinary team. The experience gained here can significantly bolster a career in international development or humanitarian leadership.
Our take
Senior international experts in data analysis and humanitarian programming should seriously consider this role to lead a vital unit at WFP. It is particularly suitable for those who thrive in complex operating environments and want to make a tangible impact on food security. It is less suitable for early-career professionals or Pakistani nationals who do not already hold UN personnel status.
