Our Take on This Opportunity

This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.

You may be a strong fit if…

  • You possess at least five years of professional kitchen experience and want to transition into an interdisciplinary research setting.
  • You have strong organizational and interpersonal skills, enabling you to support lab operations, train new users, and produce high-volume food samples.
  • You are comfortable with basic IT literacy, such as using Excel and online ordering systems, and communicate fluently in English.
  • You are enthusiastic about contributing to cutting-edge sustainability and microbial food innovation goals.

What should you think carefully about?

  • The role requires working on-site in Kgs. Lyngby, Denmark, meaning relocation is necessary if you are not already based nearby.
  • Open-source background checks may be conducted because the research involves critical technology subject to special security and export control rules.
  • Specific salary figures are not explicitly listed in the stored text, so you will need to verify the compensation details during the negotiation process based on the AC collective agreement.

How could this fit your current goals and plans?

This position offers a unique chance to bridge culinary expertise with scientific research in a cutting-edge institutional environment. It fits well if you want to expand your professional repertoire beyond traditional kitchens, engage with sustainability initiatives, and contribute directly to novel food prototypes for large-scale sensory analysis.

Our take

Professional culinary practitioners with strong organizational skills and an interest in sustainable food science should seriously consider applying. Those who require remote work or are uncomfortable with export control background checks may find this role less suitable.
