Our Take on This Opportunity

This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.

You may be a strong fit if…

  • Current UNDP or UNV personnel with a strong background in quantity surveying and infrastructure procurement
  • Professionals with experience in green building or energy-efficient construction projects
  • Candidates who hold CIPS certification or are registered with Nigerian professional bodies like QSRBN

What should you think carefully about?

  • This vacancy is strictly limited to internal Tier 1 and Tier 2 candidates; external applicants will not be considered
  • The application window is exceptionally short, leaving little time for preparation
  • The role is a National PSA position, specifically targeting those already authorized to work in Nigeria

How could this fit your current goals and plans?

This position is ideal for an internal UN professional looking to specialize in infrastructure project management within a sustainable development context. It offers the chance to manage the full lifecycle of a construction project, from initial assessment and BOQ preparation to procurement and site inspection. For those aiming to advance within the UNDP's technical or operations tracks, this role provides valuable experience in managing KOICA-funded initiatives and collaborating with government partners like SMEDAN.

Our take

Internal UNDP/UNV staff with the required technical expertise in quantity surveying should apply immediately due to the short deadline. This role is not suitable for external candidates or those without a background in civil works procurement.
