Our Take on This Opportunity
This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.
You may be a strong fit if…
- You have a solid background in statistics, economics, or public health combined with at least three years of hands-on M&E experience in development projects.
- You are based in the Dominican Republic and are eager to contribute to local food security, nutrition, and school feeding programs.
- You enjoy a mix of remote/office work and field visits, as this role allows a home-based setup but requires travel to prioritized provinces.
What should you think carefully about?
- This is a temporary National Project Personnel (NPP) contract for 12 months, though it offers the possibility of extension based on performance and funding.
- The role requires frequent travel to eight specific provinces in the Dominican Republic, which may demand significant field time.
- Your academic degree must be from an institution listed in the World Higher Education Database (WHED) to be recognized by FAO.
How could this fit your current goals and plans?
This role is an excellent fit for mid-career monitoring and evaluation professionals in the Dominican Republic looking to gain prestigious United Nations experience. It allows you to apply your analytical and statistical skills directly to high-impact social programs, specifically school feeding and food security initiatives, while collaborating with national institutions like INABIE.
Our take
Highly recommended for Dominican nationals or residents with strong M&E experience in social or agricultural development who are ready for a field-active, collaborative role. It is less suitable for those seeking a purely sedentary office job or international relocation, as it is a local contract focused on specific provinces.
