You may be a strong fit if…

  • Strong background in managing field projects related to agroforestry, bioeconomy, or family farming in Brazil.
  • Proficiency in Portuguese alongside working knowledge of English or Spanish.
  • Demonstrated experience working with rural communities, gender empowerment, or agricultural value chains such as cocoa.

What should you think carefully about?

  • The position is offered as a 12-month National Project Personnel contract, meaning it is temporary rather than a permanent staff appointment.
  • Applicants must possess Brazilian nationality or a valid work permit for residence and employment in Brazil.
  • The role requires regular travel to project sites within the state of Rondônia.

How could this fit your current goals and plans?

This 12-month project coordination role offers an exceptional platform for professionals seeking to drive sustainable rural development and gender-inclusive bioeconomy initiatives within the United Nations system in Brazil. It directly supports field implementation, stakeholder engagement, and strategic coordination in vital agricultural value chains.

Our take

Professionals with extensive project management experience in Brazilian agriculture, forestry, or social sciences who hold legal authorization to work in Brazil should seriously consider applying before the October 15, 2026 deadline. Candidates lacking the required 5 years of relevant field experience or language proficiency will find this role unsuitable.
