What should you think carefully about?

  • The position is structured as an 11-month consultancy contract (Level CST II) based on-site in Nuku'alofa, Tonga, meaning you should be prepared for this specific duration and location.
  • Applicants must verify specific logistical requirements regarding relocation and local living arrangements, as these details are not fully elaborated in the posting.
  • You will need to submit your application exclusively through the online Workday recruiting system with a complete profile and supporting documents before the 20 September 2026 deadline.

How could this fit your current goals and plans?

This 11-month on-site consultancy with the World Food Programme offers a strong avenue for mid-to-senior professionals looking to apply their humanitarian expertise to time-bound, multi-sector projects. It provides valuable international exposure and hands-on experience in disaster response and governmental capacity building within the Pacific region, making it ideal if your current plans involve deepening your operational footprint within the United Nations system.

Our take

Development and humanitarian professionals with at least five years of sector experience and a strong background in disaster management or food security should seriously consider applying. Conversely, candidates lacking the required degree level, direct humanitarian experience, or the ability to undertake an 11-month on-site assignment in Tonga will find this opportunity less suitable.
