About the opportunity
The Molecular Biosensing group at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) is seeking a PhD candidate to explore nanoswitch sensors—nanometer-scale constructs that change configuration upon molecular binding to enable continuous monitoring of biomolecules. This project focuses on designing sensors for complex nucleic acids with dynamic secondary structures, such as virus-like particles and plasmids, using a particle-based sensing platform called Biosensing by Particle Motion (BPM). The research integrates laboratory and computational approaches in collaboration with the Protein Engineering group and the Institute for Complex Molecular Systems. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to advanced bio-manufacturing applications while developing teaching skills and working within an international network.
