Our Take on This Opportunity

This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.

You may be a strong fit if…

  • Experts with at least seven years of experience in GHG accounting or climate change mitigation within the AFOLU sector.
  • Professionals with demonstrated proficiency in tools like EX-ACT, IPCC Inventory Software, or NEXT.
  • Candidates seeking a remote, home-based consultancy role.

What should you think carefully about?

  • The role is a non-staff consultancy, meaning it lacks the benefits of a permanent staff position.
  • The 11-month duration is renewable, but this is contingent upon performance and the availability of funds.
  • Candidates with only a bachelor's degree must have two additional years of professional experience beyond the seven-year requirement.

How could this fit your current goals and plans?

This position is perfect for a climate specialist looking to influence high-level evaluation and transparency in international development. It provides an opportunity to work with the FAO’s Office of Evaluation, offering a platform to refine technical guidance and capacity development skills on a global scale.

Our take

Highly experienced GHG accounting specialists with a focus on AFOLU should apply; those without the specific tool proficiency or the required years of experience may find this role less suitable.
