Our Take on This Opportunity
This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.
You may be a strong fit if…
- Senior Indonesian forestry and geospatial specialists with 10+ years of deep technical expertise in SIMONTANA, NFI 2.0, and national MRV systems
- Experts experienced in developing subnational FREL/FRL and navigating ART-TREES registration and monitoring frameworks in tropical forest contexts
- Consultants who excel at bridging high-level policy dialogue with government ministries and complex technical remote sensing analytics
What should you think carefully about?
- This is a part-time consultancy arrangement capped at 66 working days spread across 11 months rather than continuous full-time employment
- Applicants must already hold Indonesian nationality or legal residency with a valid work permit in Indonesia
- Strict WHED accreditation rules apply to all qualifying higher education degrees
How could this fit your current goals and plans?
This assignment offers senior MRV specialists an influential platform to shape Indonesia's FOLU Net Sink 2030 and REDD+ infrastructure while collaborating directly with UN agencies and the Ministry of Forestry. It provides flexible, home-based project work that fits professionals seeking part-time advisory roles while maintaining other consulting commitments.
Our take
An outstanding consultancy opportunity for seasoned Indonesian forestry and geospatial experts who want to contribute directly to national and subnational climate finance reporting; it is unsuited to entry-level professionals or non-resident international applicants.
