Our Take on This Opportunity

This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.

You may be a strong fit if…

  • Senior evaluators or subject-matter experts with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Professionals with technical expertise in ocean governance, fisheries management, or marine biodiversity.

What should you think carefully about?

  • You must not have been involved in the design or management of the Common Oceans Programme.
  • The role is a short-term consultancy of 45-65 working days, which may require balancing with other professional commitments.

How could this fit your current goals and plans?

This opportunity is ideal for experts looking to contribute to high-level global environmental initiatives while maintaining a flexible, home-based work arrangement. It offers a chance to apply specialized knowledge to a significant GEF-7 programme, potentially enhancing your portfolio in international development and environmental policy.

Our take

Experienced evaluators and marine specialists seeking a high-impact, short-term consultancy should apply. It is less suitable for those seeking long-term staff employment or those with prior involvement in the programme's design.
