Our Take on This Opportunity

This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.

You may be a strong fit if…

  • Candidates with prior janitorial, warehouse, or facilities maintenance experience who are comfortable operating industrial cleaning machinery.
  • Individuals who possess veterans' preference or military spouse preference, as these statuses factor into candidate referral categories.
  • Applicants comfortable with physical labor, including heavy lifting, ladder work, and variable shift schedules that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

What should you think carefully about?

  • The application window is very short, closing on November 2, 2026, requiring prompt preparation of application materials.
  • The federal resume must strictly adhere to a maximum two-page limit, or the applicant will be immediately disqualified.
  • The work involves physical demands such as lifting up to 50 pounds and working on ladders or scaffolds, as well as exposure to strong cleaning agents.

How could this fit your current goals and plans?

This position offers a stable federal hourly wage, structured benefits, and hands-on facilities maintenance experience within a government agency. It is well-suited for individuals seeking reliable employment, hourly compensation, and entry into the federal civil service system rather than long-term academic or corporate career tracks.

Our take

Candidates with relevant custodial or janitorial experience who meet the strict resume and documentation requirements should apply promptly before the November 2, 2026 deadline. Those unable to meet the physical demands or complete the federal application format requirements within the tight timeframe may find this opportunity less suitable.
