Our Take on This Opportunity
This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.
You may be a strong fit if…
- Dominican Republic nationality, which is a mandatory requirement for this National Project Personnel role.
- Advanced degree in Health or Social Sciences combined with at least 5 years of experience in food security or school feeding programs.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate dialogue and build capacity among government actors at various administrative levels.
What should you think carefully about?
- The role requires extensive coordination across eight provinces, so you should be prepared for the logistical demands of managing a multi-site project.
- This is a 12-month contract; while there is a possibility of extension, you should evaluate this against your current career stability goals.
- You must ensure your academic degrees are recognized in the World Higher Education Database (WHED) to meet the application criteria.
How could this fit your current goals and plans?
This role is perfect for a development professional looking to make a tangible impact on national food security and school welfare in the Dominican Republic. It offers the chance to lead a high-profile project in partnership with government ministries, providing deep experience in project management, stakeholder engagement, and the operational mechanics of UN-supported national initiatives.
Our take
Development professionals with strong local government connections and a background in nutrition or social protection should apply. Those without the required nationality or the specific project management experience in food security may find this role less suitable.
