Our Take on This Opportunity

This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.

You may be a strong fit if…

  • Experts with at least 8 years of experience in disaster risk management, anticipatory action, or development finance.
  • Professionals with specific experience analyzing legal or regulatory frameworks in Honduras or Central America.
  • Candidates who have worked with multilateral organizations like the UN, IDB, or World Bank.
  • Spanish speakers with the ability to review technical international documents in English.

What should you think carefully about?

  • The role is a consultancy, which typically implies a fixed-term engagement rather than a permanent staff position.
  • The work is on-site in Tegucigalpa, requiring local political and financial navigation.
  • Applicants should verify the specific terms and conditions of the consultancy contract before applying.

How could this fit your current goals and plans?

This consultancy is a strategic fit for a policy or finance expert looking to influence national-level disaster risk frameworks. It provides a platform to bridge the gap between government policy and international humanitarian funding, making it an ideal role for someone aiming to specialize in sustainable development finance and public policy.

Our take

This role is highly suitable for senior consultants with deep knowledge of the Honduran policy landscape. It is less suitable for those without extensive experience in disaster risk management or those seeking a traditional, non-consultancy staff role.
