Our Take on This Opportunity
This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.
You may be a strong fit if…
- Experts with an advanced degree and at least 10 years of experience in irrigation or water resources planning.
- Professionals with specific knowledge of agricultural drought assessment and the Central Highlands of Vietnam.
- Vietnamese nationals or residents with a valid work permit who are fluent in English and Vietnamese.
What should you think carefully about?
- This is a short-term, 15-day PSA contract, not a long-term staff position.
- The role is highly specialized and requires immediate technical expertise to support a rapid assessment.
- Applicants must ensure they have all necessary medical and security clearances as required by the FAO.
How could this fit your current goals and plans?
This short-term consultancy is an excellent way for a senior expert to contribute to national climate resilience initiatives without committing to a long-term role. It allows the expert to leverage their deep technical knowledge to influence policy and drought preparedness in a high-impact, time-sensitive project.
Our take
Senior water resources or agricultural engineers with relevant local experience should consider this consultancy. It is less suitable for those seeking long-term employment or those who do not meet the 10-year experience threshold.
