About the opportunity
The International Labour Organization (ILO) is the tripartite U.N. agency dedicated to promoting social justice and internationally recognized human and labour rights. This role is based in Damascus, Syria, within the RO-Arab States/DWT-Beirut department, supporting the PROSPECTS and DAR programmes. The Administrative and Finance Officer will oversee administrative and financial aspects of assigned projects, ensuring sound financial management, monitoring expenditures, overseeing procurement and logistics, and supporting budget revisions in line with ILO rules and donor requirements. This position is a technical cooperation appointment, which is not expected to lead to a career in the ILO and does not carry an expectation of renewal or conversion to other appointment types.
Salary and benefits
- Annual entry-level salary of 31,144 USD

Who can apply?
- First level University degree in Business Administration, Procurement, Finance, or a closely related field (Advanced degree is an advantage)
- At least one year of professional work experience at the national level in project management, administration, procurement, finance, or accounting
- Experience guiding Admin/Finance Assistants
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and Arabic
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and database applications
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment
