About the opportunity
Kenya has made significant progress in reducing vaccine-preventable diseases through sustained immunization investments. Under the Gavi 6.0 strategy, financing arrangements have shifted to a consolidated grant model, placing emphasis on country-led prioritization and optimizing vaccine portfolios within a constrained fiscal environment. The Ministry of Health, through the National Vaccines and Immunization Programme (NVIP) and with technical support from WHO and partners, is undertaking a Vaccine Portfolio Optimization and Prioritization (VPOP) exercise. This exercise provides a transparent framework to evaluate investments against public health impact, equity, value for money, affordability, and sustainability. WHO is seeking an international consultant to provide technical leadership and operational support in planning, implementing, facilitating, and documenting the VPOP exercise, ensuring timely submission to Gavi by March 2027.
