About the opportunity
Join the Department of Electrical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) to co-develop a next-generation optical wireless communication system. This PhD project focuses on innovating detector design, specifically creating integrated photonics-electronics components to support mass-market client devices, aiming for miniaturization and cost reduction. The researcher will model the communication chain, develop solutions for integrating photo detectors with analog front-ends, and implement TIA and buffer circuits using advanced semiconductor technologies like silicon or III-V, utilizing heterogeneous integration (HI) methodologies.
Salary and benefits
- Gross base salary between €3,204 and €4,051 per month (Scale P).
- 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% year-end bonus.
- Participation in the ABP pension scheme (TU/e pays 70% of the premium).
- Full-time employment for four years.
- Allowance for commuting, working from home, and internet costs.
- Access to high-quality training programs and technical infrastructure.
- On-campus children's day care and affordable access to the TU/e Student Sports Center.
- Free 24/7 mental health support via OpenUp for the employee and their family.
- Support from a Staff Immigration Team and a tax compensation scheme (Expat Scheme) for international candidates.
- Paid pregnancy and maternity leave, and partially paid parental leave.
