Our Take on This Opportunity
This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.
You may be a strong fit if…
- Researchers with a PhD in analytical chemistry or archaeometry who have a proven track record of interdisciplinary work between natural sciences and humanities.
- Candidates with specific technical expertise in luminescence-based dating and advanced analytical instrumentation.
- Academics looking to lead a research group within a well-funded, specialized center like the CIPP Center.
What should you think carefully about?
- This is a fixed-term, non-tenured position ending on 31 March 2030, which may not suit those seeking permanent academic security.
- The role requires a commitment to learning Danish within five years, which is a significant long-term professional and personal investment.
- The position involves a mix of research, teaching, and administrative duties, requiring a balanced skill set beyond pure laboratory research.
How could this fit your current goals and plans?
This position is an excellent opportunity for an early-to-mid-career researcher to gain significant experience leading a specialized research group at an internationally recognized center. It provides a platform to build a strong publication record and expand professional networks across both the natural sciences and the humanities, which can be a valuable stepping stone for future permanent academic or leadership roles.
Our take
This role is highly suitable for researchers with a strong background in archaeometry who are eager to work in an interdisciplinary environment. It is less suitable for those who require a permanent tenure-track position or who are not prepared to engage with the administrative and teaching requirements of a Danish university department.
