About the opportunity
The United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) assists developing countries in developing their economies by supplementing capital assistance with grants, loans, and guarantees. UNCDF works as a hybrid development organization and development finance institution to mobilize and catalyze capital flows for SDG-impactful investments. Special emphasis is placed on supporting investments in the Pacific region, including Pacific Small Island Developing States (SIDS), to address structural constraints such as small market size, geographic isolation, climate change vulnerability, and limited access to finance. The Investment Specialist will deploy investment and blended finance expertise to support the origination, structuring, execution, and management of UNCDF’s investment portfolio in last-mile and underserved markets, with a particular focus on the Pacific region.
