Our Take on This Opportunity

This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.

You may be a strong fit if…

  • You have a background in youth work, youth participation, or community engagement, especially with vulnerable or at-risk youth.
  • You excel at providing pastoral care, safeguarding, and facilitating youth-led activities and advisory boards.
  • You are comfortable collaborating with communications teams to elevate lived experiences and drive advocacy.

What should you think carefully about?

  • This is a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover contract, meaning it is not a permanent position.
  • The role requires working in-person in Central London for 2 days per week.
  • An Enhanced DBS check with Children's Barred List clearance is mandatory for the role.

How could this fit your current goals and plans?

This role offers an exceptional platform for professionals looking to deepen their experience in youth advocacy, safeguarding, and charity sector programming. It provides meaningful exposure to national violence prevention research and policy work, making it ideal for individuals aiming to build a career in youth work, social impact, or program management.

Our take

This opportunity is well-suited for dedicated youth practitioners and coordinators with strong safeguarding and facilitation skills who are seeking a substantive 12-month fixed-term role in London. Applicants unable to commit to in-person attendance in Central London or who require long-term permanent job security may find this maternity cover less suitable.
