About the opportunity
The World Food Programme (WFP) requires a consultancy to systematize and document Anticipatory Action (AA) implementation experiences in Honduras, with emphasis on work carried out by the Honduran Red Cross, FAO, and WFP. Honduras has advanced significantly in establishing its National Anticipatory Action Framework for drought and floods. However, accumulated experiences remain dispersed. This consultancy aims to produce a technical document on the current state of AA, its progress, lessons learned, and best practices, and to design and execute a simulation exercise on tropical storm-related flooding to test activation protocols and inter-institutional coordination among the ECHO Consortium, GTA AA, and government counterparts.

How could this fit your current goals and plans?
This consultancy is an excellent opportunity for a disaster risk management expert to influence national policy and institutional coordination in Honduras. By documenting lessons learned and designing simulation exercises, you will directly contribute to the efficacy of the National Anticipatory Action Framework, making this a high-impact role for someone looking to bridge the gap between technical research and operational humanitarian practice.
Our take
This role is ideal for experienced humanitarian consultants with a strong grasp of the Honduran context. It is less suitable for those without prior experience in disaster risk management or those who lack professional Spanish proficiency.
