Our Take on This Opportunity

This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.

You may be a strong fit if…

  • A strong fit for licensed psychiatrists holding an MBBS and MD with at least two years of clinical experience in mental health.
  • Ideal for professionals experienced in public health systems, supervision, and training who wish to contribute to national health policy implementation in Nepal.
  • Well-suited for clinicians looking for part-time, flexible consultancy work (4-6 days per month) that allows them to maintain other professional commitments.

What should you think carefully about?

  • Placement on the roster does not guarantee a consultancy contract.
  • The role requires regular monthly travel to assigned districts within Nepal for clinical mentoring and supervision.
  • Contractors are independent and must manage their own taxes, duties, and social security contributions without reimbursement from WHO.

How could this fit your current goals and plans?

This roster position offers an excellent opportunity for psychiatrists to engage directly with international public health frameworks, strengthen secondary care delivery, and build capacity within regional health systems in Nepal without committing to a full-time staff role.

Our take

Qualified psychiatrists with clinical experience and a strong background in mental health training should apply before the deadline to secure placement on the WHO consultant roster.
