Our Take on This Opportunity

This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.

You may be a strong fit if…

  • Experienced data professionals with at least 6 years of experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Candidates proficient in Python, Tableau, and statistical software like SPSS, STATA, or R.
  • Individuals comfortable working in a fast-paced, on-site humanitarian environment in Monrovia.

What should you think carefully about?

  • This is an on-site role in Liberia, so applicants should be prepared for relocation if not already based in Monrovia.
  • The role requires high-level proficiency in English (Level C) for complex reporting and data communication.
  • Applicants must be comfortable managing multiple IT platforms simultaneously.

How could this fit your current goals and plans?

This position is ideal for a data specialist looking to pivot their technical skills toward high-impact humanitarian work. By leading vulnerability mapping and food security analysis, you will gain significant experience in applying data science to real-world strategic decision-making within a major international organization, while benefiting from WFP's internal professional development and mentorship programs.

Our take

This is a strong opportunity for experienced data analysts seeking to apply their technical expertise to global food security. It is less suitable for those without the specific software proficiencies or those unable to commit to an on-site role in Liberia.
