About the opportunity

The University of Southern Denmark (SDU) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join the Research Unit of Health and Cognitive Psychology. This 36-month position, based at the Esbjerg campus with collaboration in Odense, focuses on theoretical development within the multiple object tracking (MOT) paradigm. The successful candidate will design, program, and analyze an integrate-and-fire neural network model (LAMINART) to explore how the visual system segments and tracks objects in dynamic scenes. The role includes both research and teaching responsibilities. The project is led by Dr. Gregory Scott Francis in collaboration with Professor Søren Krogh Andersen. The university provides support for international staff, including Danish language training.

Salary and benefits

  • Monthly salary of DKK 42,108.16 (base salary plus job structure supplement)
  • Employment under the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC)
  • Danish language training for foreign applicants
  • Support services from the International Staff Office (ISO)

Who can apply?

  • PhD degree in psychology, cognitive (neuro)science, vision science, or a related field
  • Research experience demonstrated by conference contributions and peer-reviewed journal articles
  • Expertise in visual attention and perception
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to design, implement, and analyze complex experiments
  • Proficiency in Python or similar programming languages
