Our Take on This Opportunity
This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.
You may be a strong fit if…
- PhD holders in Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, or related technical fields.
- Researchers with hands-on experience in microfluidics, microdevice fabrication, or biomaterials.
- Individuals with an entrepreneurial mindset interested in the potential to launch a spin-off company.
What should you think carefully about?
- The role is on-site in Enschede, so you must be willing to relocate if necessary.
- The position is multidisciplinary, requiring you to communicate effectively with clinicians and pharmacologists.
- You must be prepared to provide a short video as part of your application, which is a specific requirement for this role.
How could this fit your current goals and plans?
This two-year postdoc is an excellent goal for a researcher who wants to see their work move from the lab to real-world medical applications. The combination of high-speed microfluidic production and the potential for commercialization provides a unique opportunity to develop both your scientific expertise and your entrepreneurial skills.
Our take
This is an ideal role for a highly motivated, multidisciplinary researcher interested in the intersection of bioengineering and commercialization. Those who prefer a strictly academic focus without potential industrial or spin-off involvement may find this less suitable.
