Our Take on This Opportunity

This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.

You may be a strong fit if…

  • Researchers with a background in computational neuroscience or cognitive modelling who are eager to apply these skills to the study of consciousness.
  • Candidates who enjoy interdisciplinary collaboration, specifically working at the intersection of neuroscience, psychology, and philosophy.
  • Early-career academics looking for a stable 2.5-year research position within a highly-ranked European university.

What should you think carefully about?

  • The role requires daily on-site presence at the Department of Psychology in Copenhagen, making relocation necessary if you are not already based in the area.
  • You must contact the project lead to obtain the original project proposal before applying; failing to do so may hinder your ability to align your research plan with the project's requirements.
  • The project is highly specific; your application must demonstrate a clear, feasible plan for how your research will contribute to the existing 'Mapping Experience of Action' framework.

How could this fit your current goals and plans?

This position is an excellent opportunity for a researcher to advance their career by contributing to a well-funded, interdisciplinary project. It provides the time and resources to produce high-impact publications while working within a collaborative, international research environment. For those aiming to build a profile in cognitive neuroscience, this role offers both the technical challenge of computational modelling and the theoretical depth of consciousness research.

Our take

This is a strong opportunity for postdocs with a solid foundation in cognitive modelling and experimental design who are interested in the philosophical and neuroscientific study of movement. If you are prepared to relocate to Copenhagen and can demonstrate a clear research contribution to the project's specific goals, you should consider applying.
