About the opportunity
The PhD position in Hybrid FSO-RF-Fiber Channel Models and Transmission Schemes is part of the ANCHOR project, an EU-funded MSCA Doctoral Network. The role focuses on developing hybrid free-space optics (FSO), radio frequency (RF), and fiber links for flexible front-/mid-/backhauling in terrestrial and tropospheric networking scenarios. The researcher will analyze combined channels, develop lightweight channel models, and create jointly optimized schemes for waveforms, modulation, coding, and low-level protocols. Embedded in the ICT Lab of the Signal Processing Systems group at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), the candidate will work within a dynamic team of approximately 30 researchers and benefit from a comprehensive training program, international secondments, and networking opportunities across a consortium of 24 partners from academia, research institutions, and industry.
