About the opportunity
The National Cancer Registry (NCR) in Lebanon aims to measure cancer incidence and maintain a national database for epidemiological studies. Currently, pediatric oncology data requires specialized coding and additional information to overcome bottlenecks such as data quality, underreporting, and incomplete staging or treatment outcomes. This consultancy, supported by the WHO Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer (GICC), involves working with the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) to improve data processes, engage pediatric oncologists, and conduct a survival analysis exercise. The consultant will be remotely supported by IARC experts and will contribute to drafting a roadmap for pediatric oncology data improvement and a survival analysis report.

It is particularly well-suited for someone looking to make a tangible impact on national health data infrastructure and pediatric oncology outcomes in Lebanon, while building a specialized portfolio in cancer registry management.
Our take
This position is ideal for experienced epidemiologists or public health experts based in Lebanon who are looking for a high-impact, short-term consultancy. It is less suitable for those seeking full-time, long-term employment or those without the specific required experience in cancer registry data processes.
