Our Take on This Opportunity
This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.
You may be a strong fit if…
- Experienced database or data engineers with at least seven years of professional background.
- Professionals with specific expertise in geospatial analysis, public health informatics, or immunization systems.
- Candidates comfortable with remote, independent contracting and managing complex, heterogeneous data integration workflows.
What should you think carefully about?
- This is a short-term consultancy running from September to December 2026, which may not suit those seeking long-term stability.
- As an independent contractor, you are responsible for your own tax withholdings and social security contributions.
- The role requires advanced proficiency in Spanish or English, with a working knowledge of the other language being a distinct advantage.
How could this fit your current goals and plans?
This consultancy is an excellent fit for a data professional looking to apply their technical skills to a high-impact global health initiative. It offers a structured way to contribute to measles vaccination efforts while building a portfolio of work within the PAHO/WHO system, potentially opening doors to future roster-based opportunities.
Our take
Data engineers with a background in geospatial systems and a passion for public health should apply; those seeking permanent employment or long-term institutional benefits may find this short-term contract less suitable.
