The role involves producing technical reports, recommendations, and socialized findings to strengthen territorial health networks and improve access for LGBTIQ+ individuals.

Our Take on This Opportunity

This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.

You may be a strong fit if…

  • Professionals with a background in public health or social sciences who have specific experience in LGBTIQ+ health equity and human rights advocacy.
  • Researchers skilled in qualitative and quantitative data analysis who can translate complex field findings into actionable policy recommendations.
  • Individuals with strong community engagement skills who are comfortable working autonomously with diverse stakeholders, including government and civil society.

What should you think carefully about?

  • This is a fixed-term consultancy contract, not a permanent staff position, meaning it does not include standard employment benefits like social security or tax withholding by the organization.
  • The role requires significant field-based diagnostic work in Colombia; applicants should be prepared for the logistical demands of mapping and coordinating across multiple prioritized territories.
  • The application process is highly specific; ensure your PAHO profile is fully updated with detailed task descriptions, as LinkedIn-imported CVs are not accessible to the hiring team.

How could this fit your current goals and plans?

This consultancy is an excellent fit for mid-career professionals looking to apply their expertise in gender and health equity to a high-impact regional project. It offers a clear, product-based structure that allows for autonomous work while providing significant exposure to the operational standards of the Pan American Health Organization and the World Health Organization.

Our take

This opportunity is ideal for experts in LGBTIQ+ health and human rights who are based in or have deep knowledge of the Colombian health landscape. It is less suitable for those seeking long-term staff employment or those who do not have the required postgraduate qualifications and specific experience in technical report writing.
