Our Take on This Opportunity
This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.
You may be a strong fit if…
- Professionals with extensive experience in managing multi-country, donor-funded public health portfolios.
- Experts in digital health implementation, particularly those with hands-on experience in DHIS2 deployment and health information system interoperability.
- Candidates with a strong track record in results-based management and high-level donor reporting for organizations like the World Bank or USAID.
- Individuals comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-partner environment requiring coordination across government and international agencies.
What should you think carefully about?
- This is a fixed-term, non-staff consultancy; it does not create an employer-employee relationship and does not include standard employment benefits.
- The role requires significant administrative and reporting rigor, including strict adherence to monthly deliverable deadlines.
- While primarily remote, the position requires a willingness to travel to the Eastern Caribbean on an ad hoc basis.
- The consultant is solely responsible for their own tax and social security obligations in their jurisdiction.
How could this fit your current goals and plans?
This consultancy is an excellent opportunity for a mid-to-senior level public health professional to lead a high-visibility regional project. It offers the chance to work directly with major international stakeholders like the World Bank and PAHO, providing significant exposure to regional health policy and digital health infrastructure development. For those looking to build a career in international development or health systems strengthening, this role provides a platform to demonstrate leadership in complex, multi-country program management.
Our take
This role is ideal for experienced consultants with a background in public health and digital systems who are looking for a high-impact, 12-month engagement. It is less suitable for those seeking permanent staff positions or those who are not comfortable with the administrative responsibilities of independent contracting.
