Our Take on This Opportunity

This section reflects Open Opportunities’ own analysis of the opportunity from an applicant’s perspective.

You may be a strong fit if…

  • Extensive professional background in humanitarian supply chain management, logistics, or emergency response at a senior level
  • Proven capability in managing multidisciplinary portfolios, capacity strengthening with government partners, and cash-based transfer operations
  • Desire to contribute directly to emergency preparedness and resilience-building initiatives within a major international UN agency context

What should you think carefully about?

  • The role is offered on an 11-month regular consultancy contract rather than a permanent staff appointment
  • Duty station is based on-site in Kathmandu, Nepal, requiring relocation if not currently locally based
  • The application window is very short, requiring prompt preparation of required documents

How could this fit your current goals and plans?

This 11-month consultancy offers a high-impact platform for experienced supply chain professionals to lead critical humanitarian and resilience operations. It suits mid-to-senior career practitioners looking to apply their expertise in complex emergency contexts, strengthen national institutional systems, and expand their portfolio within the United Nations system.

Our take

Experienced supply chain and logistics professionals with a strong background in humanitarian operations or emergency preparedness should seriously consider applying. Candidates unable to commit to an 11-month on-site consultancy in Nepal or those lacking the required 6 years of experience will find this opportunity less suitable.
